A PLAN TO REACH SUSTAINABILTY GOALS WITH SOLAR

Massanutten Resort partnered with Secure Solar Futures in 2021 in order to begin their journey of reducing their carbon footprint. The Resort has continued to move forward with reaching their sustainability goals with signing a 25-year lease agreement to go solar.  

In 2022, Massanutten Resort placed two solar projects into service.

Their Woodstone Building that serves as a guest check-in location was placed in service September 2022. Its rooftop solar array is 136 kilowatts and is estimated to offset over 13% of the building’s energy use.

At the resort’s Laundry Facility was placed in service October 2022 at 163 kW with an estimated energy offset of over 40%.

Massanutten Resort’s Indoor Waterpark is expected to have a completed ground mount solar system by the end of 2023.
