East Asia and China to be the fastest growing CPV solar market in the world

OPEL Solar Asia, supplier of high concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) solar panels and other solar power products earlier this week announced a second deal for its HCPV panels and dual axis trackers in China.
The company signed an agreement with a second of the five national power utilities in China, for the supply and installation of OPEL’s HCPV systems to be deployed in the region of Inner Mongolia in China.
The company said in a news release that the agreement doubles the number of HCPV panels and trackers OPEL will deliver to China this year. Experts say East Asia and China in particular will be the fastest growing CPV solar market in the world.
The agreement brings two of the five major electric power companies online to OSA. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2011 and completed in 2012. The agreement will bring in tens of millions of dollars to the company’s HCPV solar system, said OPEL’s CEO Leon M. Pierhal.
Isn’t it time for concerned US citizens to voice their concerns and be heard regarding sustainable energy source installation and usage in the United States? Isn’t it time that “thought leadership” and forward-looking planning for future energy needs in the United States become a focal point? Shouldn’t our great land be on the cutting edge of technology and be the fastest growing CPV solar market in the world?
